Welcome to the
website of the Ashbourne Health
Centre doctors.
We are a 5 partner practice with
a list size of approximately
7400 patients living in the town
itself and the outlying
villages. We are long
established in Ashbourne,
currently occupying a centrally
located health centre, but due
to move to new purpose built
premises on the edge of the town
in the near future.
In addition to the 5 partners –
3 female and 2 male – we employ
a doctor through the Doctors
Retainer scheme, and have GP
Registrars completing their
training with us as we are
approved as a Training Practice.
In order to maintain this status
we are required to meet the
highest standards of primary
health care delivery and are
regularly inspected to ensure
that this is the case.
We are a dispensing practice
which enables us to provide
medication for any of our
patients who live more than a
mile from the nearest chemist.
As well as traditional “general
practice”, we offer well
organised care for people with
chronic medical conditions,
preventative advice to all age
groups, and a variety of
specialised clinics including
antenatal care, child health
clinics and minor surgery.
Further information can be found
on the
following pages.
The services
we provide continue to be
reviewed and we welcome comments
and suggestions from our
patients.
There are
other services based at the
Health centre in addition to
ourselves, including: Chiropody,
speech therapy, occupational
therapy, school health services,
district nursing and community
matrons, smoking cessation
advice, welfare rights advice,
dietician services and clinics
for community paediatrics,
psychiatry, incontinence/urinary
problems and cancer care.
