Information for Carers
As a practice we recognise that a lot of our patients are
caring for a relative or friend and often do not regard
themselves as a ‘carer’. Who is a Carer?Carers are people who without payment, provide help and support to a family member, friend or neighbour who cannot manage on their own due to physical or mental illness, disability, substance misuse or frailty brought on by old age. Caring roles can include administering medication, lifting, moving and handling, personal or emotional care. Who is a Young Carer?
Young carers are carers under the age of 18. The person
receiving the care is often a parent, but may be a sibling,
grandparent or other relative that may need support.
A carer’s information pack is available from Reception. |
