Medical Certificates

If you are off work for up to seven days you do not require a medical certificate from the doctor. You may need to fill in a self-certificate available either from your employer or the surgery.

If your absence from work is greater than seven days, please see your doctor who can provide a medical certificate where appropriate.

If you require a Medical Certificate following an operation or hospital procedure, your GP will be happy to sign one providing they have a copy of your hospital discharge letter/form.
