We are
having
three
open
swine
flu
vaccination
clinics
on:
Saturday
5th
December
Saturday
12th
December
Saturday
19th
December
between
8.30am
and
12.00pm.
Any
patients
with
diabetes,
heart
disease,
kidney
disease,
liver
disease,
neurological
disease
or
respiratory/lung
disease
attend.
No
appointment
necessary.

PLEASE
DO NOT
COME IN
TO THE
SURGERY.
You
will be
assessed
by a
trained
advisor
and if
you
qualify
for
antiviral
treatment
(and
you
chose
to take
them),
you
will be
given a
unique
reference
number
and
told
where
your
?flu
friend?
can go
to
collect
the
medication
(the
nearest
collection
point).
Symptoms
of
swine
flu
?
The
symptoms
of
swine
flu are
broadly
the
same as
those
of
ordinary
flu,
but may
be more
severe.
The
typical
symptoms
are:
Fever
(a high
body
temperature
of over
38C or
100.4F
and TWO
of the
following
symptoms:
-
headache
-
tiredness
-
chills
-
aching
muscles
-
limb
or
joint
pain
-
diarrhoea
or
stomach
upset
-
sore
throat
-
runny
nose
-
sneezing,
and
-
loss
of
appetite.
In the
meantime,
take
paracetamol-based
cold
remedy
to
reduce
your
fever
and
other
symptoms,
drink
plenty
of
fluids
and get
lots of
rest.
Reducing
the
spread
of the
virus
General
hygiene
can
help to
reduce
transmission
of all
viruses,
including
the
swine
flu
virus.
This
includes:
-
Covering
your
nose
and
mouth
when
coughing
or
sneezing,
using
a
tissue
when
possible
-
Disposing
of
dirty
tissues
promptly
and
carefully
-
Maintaining
good
basic
hygiene,
for
example
washing
hands
frequently
with
soap
and
water
to
reduce
the
spread
of
the
virus
from
your
hands
to
your
face
or
to
other
people
-
Cleaning
hard
surfaces
(such
as
door
handles)
frequently
using
a
normal
cleaning
product.
